The "DJANGO" vehicle is one of the results of an innovation exercise called JAZZENGINEERING (www.jazzengineering.org) that I created for high school age apprentices who have worked for me after school during the last 4 years. The main concept is to combine a traditional electric drive consisting of a main battery bank, motor controller, electric motor and chain drive with an accessory electric pedal powered generator. The adjustable work load of the pedals can charge the main motor battery or the accessory battery. They can also control the speed of the vehicle.

When our 12 volt DC power source is connected to the cell, the electrical pressure causes current to flow from one tube to another; negative to positive. A magnetic field is created around the tubes. You can see it drawing the tiny bubbles down towards the bottom of the cell. They then cycle back to the top, between the tubes. The outside tube has the most influence on the bubbles moving in a downward direction. The magnetic flux movement is from North to South on the outside and South to North on the inside of the tubes. Electrolysis takes place on the surface of the tubes. Therefore, surface area on the tubes plays a part in the quantity of HHO that can be produced. When DC voltage is applied to the tubes it causes a chemical reaction in the water molecules. The water molecules H+ ions become attracted to the Negative Cathode in the cell, and OH- ions become attracted to the Positive Anode. The byproduct is HH gas on the Cathode tube and O gas on the Anode tube. In other words, the release of the positive hydrogen and negative oxygen gas. If you could get down to eye level with the waters surface, you would see tiny bubbles jumping out of the water and popping. Looks similar to those caused by pouring carbonated water. The plant is sufficiently compact to be used by urban households, and over 700 are currently in use. Pune is a relatively affluent city in south India, and many people use liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or kerosene for cooking. Waste food is often discarded at the side of the road, as in many cities, attracting stray dogs, flies and rats and creating a public health hazard. The ARTI compact biogas plant is made from two standard high-density polyethylene (HDPE) water tanks: the larger tank acts as the digester and the smaller one is inverted and placed into it to serve as a gas-holder. The plant safely digests kitchen waste, food waste or waste flour from mills, thus reducing the problem of waste disposal. A 1000 litre plant produces sufficient biogas to at least halve the use of LPG or kerosene for cooking in a household, as well as a small amount of liquid effluent which can be used as fertiliser. ARTI has developed the technology, field tested it, and managed the supply of about 700 biogas plants in Maharashtra. Around 100 plants are now being installed every month. I have gotten more questions from folks about this and decided to do a vid to show why I use what I use. Its also to help out other new people getting into this HHO stuff. Its a short video but its worth watching if your just getting started and have questions about electrolytes. Link to wikipedia on sodium bicarbonate... en.wikipedia.org Link to wikipedia sodium hydroxide... en.wikipedia.org The short and sweet is... baking soda gradually decomposes as it heats up, more than NaOH. Lets compare baking soda and NaOH... 1. Baking soda = Decomposes around 50 °C (122 degree Fahrenheit) 2. NaOH = Decomposes around 318°C (604.4 degree Fahrenheit) Also note NaOH also has a high boiling point of 1390°C (2534 degree Fahrenheit) Ref: Wikipedia. So while both do work, the NaOH lasts longer, IOW less cell maintenance = good. I have also noticed that baking soda leaves more residue (brown tinted water) than when I use NaOH. Again it comes down to less cell maintenance = good. So for me I am going to use NaOH over baking soda, but its good to know that HHO cells are very flexible and can use both. As for the other electrolytes, I havent tried them yet but here is some of what I've found out about KOH; Here is the wikipedia link for it... en.wikipedia.org KOH is good too but it is exothermic; IOW it also helps produce HHO gas but it is accompanied by the release of additional heat too. Although this little homemade device is not actually useful for much, it does demonstrate the concept of energy storage by flywheel. I made it from a brushless DC cooling fan motor. The motor is rated for 12 volts but I have pushed it to 18 without electrical or mechanical failure. At 18 volts the flywheel speeds up to scary high speeds. I have no equipment to measure the speeds, but in theory the video plus audio should be enough to make an accurate estimate. At times, the flywheel appears to be spinning much slower than it actually is, but that is caused by the stroboscopic effect. In reality, it spins too fast to perceive. I tapped into the same coils that accelerate the flywheel and used them for generating power, which is why the voltage is too high to use on LEDs during spin up. Once I disconnect the 12 volt supply, the coils are no longer energized externally and the voltage drops to that which is produce by the spinning flywheel. The magnetic coupling is weak so I can only draw low currents. Industrial units exist in applications where short duration, high output, uninterruptable power is needed or when rapid charge and discharge is needed. They usually suspend the flywheel by magnetic levitation. One example of an ideal application is temporary emergency backup power for hospitals. The hospital's ICE driven generator takes a few seconds to start, and so the flywheel bridges the gap between power loss and the generator's online state. How did I balance the ...
